Matthew J Ross is a Houston native based in Montreal and sometimes Pittsburgh. His aching songs of love and loss are steeped in the spirit of country & western torch songs past, filtered through a poignant realness that transcends mere nostalgia. By sidestepping cliched folksiness and affected twang, his songs manage to feel at once timeless and fresh.
